Biodiversity Week 21st – 27th May 2018

This year we are celebrating 25 years of Action for Biodiversity with a series of events.

Monday, 21st May

11am  Guided Walk and Talk “Using Wild Plants in the Kitchen.”

Tuesday, 22nd May

3pm  Guided Tree Walk

Wednesday, 23rd May

11am  Guided Walk on Lower Diamond Hill

Thursday, 24th May

3pm  Guided Walk on Lower Diamond Hill

11am Peg Dolly Workshop

12noon  “Plants Gone Wild.”

A talk by Breandan O’Scannaill on invasive plants in Connemara.

2.30pm  “Pine Martens and their use of houses as den sites in the West of Ireland.”

A talk by Brian Hughes on one of our most elusive mammals.

Sunday, 27th May

10.30am  Derrigimlagh Bog Walk

(Meeting point for this walk is at the Derrigimlagh Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point Car Park, on the Ballyconneely Road, Clifden)

Some extra information

All events are free of charge and suitable for children and adults alike.

All walks will leave from the Visitor Centre, unless otherwise stated. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for all walks.

Booking is essential for our Peg Dolly Workshop. Please call 087 2919721 or email siobhan.geoghegan@chg.gov.ie  by Thursday, 24th May at 4.30pm to secure a place. All materials will be supplied.

Children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian at all times for all events.
